Shalom!

Welcome to my blog spot.

I entitled this blog "Dancing to the Rhythm" because that is really the best way to describe what I am striving to do in my life right now. A  number of years ago my family began learning that G-d has appointed a rhythm of time for His children to live by. His calender revolves around set times that are constantly pointing us back to Him, back to the way of righteousness. All these act like check points along the journey that keep you focused on the race, that let you know you are going the right direction.

With all that in mind, the time in between check points is just as important. For example If you have a special engagement, you mark it on your calender, you prepare whatever is necessary for that event ahead of time, and in someway shape or form it is constantly in the back of your mind. The same is true for our walk with HaShem. If we just "show up" for Pesach(Passover) for example and have not first prepared our houses, hearts, and minds, we are missing the whole thing. I want this blog to touch on all the aspects of "dancing to the rhythm of righteousness", from the nitty gritty practical stuff, to how that applies, and is so necessary, in teaching us more about HaShem.

Everything has a rhythm in this world, and it is very easy to get caught up in the plethora that the world and today's society throws at us (pursuit of money, education, career, holidays of the world, technology etc.). The difference between these rhythms and the Rhythm of Righteousness is that they seek to draw you away from G-d and deceive us into thinking that that is where we will find our total fulfillment in life.

In dancing to the Rhythm of Righteousness I am allowing someone else to take my hand and lead my steps. And though I may have to participate in some aspect of the "world's rhythm" it is not the rhythm that I will allow to govern my life. It isn't what I am going to let define me as a person.  It isn't where I will find fulfillment. This only will I find in the arms of the Leader: the Creator of the dance.

I have two left feet when it comes to dancing...I stumble quite often, and have sooooo much more to learn about the dance...but I have it on good authority that, even though this may be not the easiest dance to master...it is not impossible! Devarim(Deut) 30:11-14

Leave a comment to let me know you dropped by! It's always appreciated!

  1. Simply beautiful! Kalandra, the description of your journey is artistic in and of itself. Stay with your writing. You're good at it. I'm just another blogger that has been looking up people who have Torah in their profile. And I found you :) Shalom!

    1. Thank you for the comment. I feel bad that this blog has been stagnating for quite awhile. Life moves in cycles and it would seem I am riding a cycle now where my attention is required elsewhere leaving me with little mental stamina to keep it up as I used to. If you are interested in Torah living from a biblical, scholarly, Yeshua centred perspective I strongly recommend checking out torahresource.com. All the best in your pursuit of our Saviour and Master Yeshua(may he be blessed forever and ever).
